Ph.D. in Economics
Youngwook Jung
I am an Associate Fellow at the Korea Development Institute (KDI).
I received my Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. My research fields are labor economics and regional economics, with interests in migration and demographic transition. Recently, I have become interested in establishing policies in response to Korea's population decline.
In my job market paper, I estimate the elasticity of substitution between prime-age and marginal-retirement-age workers by investigating the impact of internal migration of prime-age workers on relative employment and earnings between the two labor cohorts.
